🎉 Celebrating 50 Years at the Kirkwood Farmers’ Market! 🎉

🌟 Vendor Spotlight: La Canasta Company 🌟

La Canasta Company has been in business for 4 years and has been part of the Kirkwood Farmers’ Market since 2022.

Owner Alexandra Wechsler's journey has taken her from owning a spa business in Clayton to living in Mexico, working in real estate, and eventually building a business inspired by her travels and family connections in Guatemala.

La Canasta Company specializes in handwoven recycled-plastic baskets made by Guatemalan artisans. These colorful, durable baskets are washable, backed by a lifetime guarantee, and perfect for everything from farmers' market shopping to beach trips. The booth also features a variety of handmade Guatemalan artisan goods, including beaded birds, jade bracelets, worry dolls, embroidered accessories, and handwoven wallets.

What makes La Canasta unique? Their baskets are handcrafted by skilled artisans in Guatemala, made from recycled plastic, and are unlike anything else available. Many of the basket makers are family businesses themselves, with some carrying on traditions for multiple generations.

Alexandra loves the friendships formed at the Kirkwood Farmers’ Market and says Saturdays feel more like visiting friends than going to work. She enjoys the vibrant atmosphere, fellow vendors, and the opportunity to connect with customers each week.

Be sure to stop by and discover the beautiful handcrafted treasures at La Canasta Company! 🧺✨
