We don't know what else to say except THANK YOU!

You all really turned out for our meat-up event. You had other things you could be doing, other places you could be going, and you chose to stop and support us. That decision did not go unnoticed, and we appreciate it more than we can express.

Truly, this greatly exceeded our expectations. We were asked if we'd do this again, and we can confidently say yes! If you want us to do this again, we will absolutely make that happen. We'll share the information once we finalize the details, but look for another meat-up next month.

But we can't stop there - let us know what you thought! Is there anything we could have done to make this better? We want your feedback.

We get asked every year if we have any females available, and our last calving season we were blessed with a large heifer crop! Because we had so many excellent cow prospects, we are excited to offer 7 open heifers straight from the heart of our herd.

Four were sired by Churchill Dauntless 368L ET. Two were sired by ASM 405B Red Man 325L ET. One was sired by WRF 158G Rowan 397M. They were born January through March 2026.

Spooky season! Pumpkin spice season! Whatever you enjoy in the fall, the time has arrived!

October also means we are winding down on our markets for the year. Thank you to everyone for your support at the Route 40 market! Belpre's market continues to run through the month, so we have 2 more dates there before the season comes to a close.

We are also trying something new this month with our friends from Cornerstone Homestead! Stop out on the 16th between 3-6pm to shop all the meats: beef, pork, chicken, and turkey! They will also be bringing a selection of their handmade goat milk soaps and lotions.

We will be closed on Halloween to attend and support some friends at a local Hereford sale. We are also in between processing dates currently, so our next restock will not be until early November. Keep an eye on our website to check what is currently available (although we don't anticipate running out of anything except for some of our steaks).

Look at that bull! 😍

Ribbon recently got pulled from his herd of cows for a well deserved break, but seeing him pose has us excited to see those calves. Just need to wait a little longer.

He is pictured here at 18 months. His sire is Churchill Dauntless; one of the first bull calves we got from him!

Ribbon's dam is a cow that we call Looksee, pictured here on pasture this past summer. We purchased her great-grandmother at a sale quite a few years back - a Trust 100W cow bred by Matheny Herefords. Looksee is one of our favorite cows and has already provided a replacement as her second calf (not that we have plans to replace her anytime soon, did you see that first calf she raised?!)

We know it's not a cow, but we are very excited to share our latest investment in handling facilities!

We decided it was time to get one really good system for the farm, something that could work our smallest calves to our biggest bulls, collect weights fast and easy, and even be usable by a single person if needed! That's right, we finally got ourselves an Arrowquip.

This setup includes a chute for safe cattle handling, an alley with an integrated weigh system, and a working tub to help bring in the next group! And it's fully portable, so we can move it around the farm and use it wherever it is needed. Just fold it up, hook to the truck, and go.

Big thank you to D&J Sales & Services in Cadiz for helping us find what we needed and getting it to the farm.

We're big fans of these Validated calves. We ended up with 3 heifer calves from that breeding, all came easy, and all doing wonderful!

Featured is Gayle, first time momma who traces back to our Nancy (we've mentioned before how influential that long-lived cow was for our bloodlines). We decided to call her heifer Val. These two are a pair to watch for sure!

We are set up and ready to go! The inaugural Outdoorsmen Rendezvous is kicking off now!

Swing by Jackson Park in Byesville to check out a great group of vendors, show off your outdoorsmen skills, and help this event grow for future years. Family friendly, so bring the kids! Activities will be the main focus this morning, so stop out early.
