A new little addition Easter morning from my Shetland Ewe, Purl. This may be a bit Jerry Springer like as I'm not sure if baby- lamb- daddy is the Shetland Ram , Cedar, or the Border Leicester. Better fences coming up.

More Joy's of farming in Washington: Kids just left for the west side for Rodeo and to pick up our herd sire- Abel-my Wagyu bull that I've been not so patiently waiting on since August and now a state emergency called for weather. Cows , pigs and goats all ready to pop within the next 2 weeks so with my luck everyone will go early. GOOD FREAKING GRIEF! I'm screaming UNCLE mother nature. Can you hear me through the hollowing icy wind?

This was so enjoyable to come up with recipes and prepare our meals for our families. We are honored to bless these AMAZING families for their hard work, service to others, and the rebuilding of their lives and commitment to their community and families. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

We would like to thank all of you for submitting either your name and story or the name and story of someone you had nominated for our holiday meal.
After reviewing the long list of families we have chosen our two. All of the warm and fuzzy do good feelings have been tempered with the realization we arent doing enough for our community. It is with great sadness that we are not able to provide for more than 2 families. We will do much better next year.

A little peak into our busy peasant weekend. We harvested 2 lambs for our freezer. The boys found us not 1 but 2 christmas trees this year . Made some beautiful homemade hams that are out of this world yummy and finally some good ol family time with tree decorating, games, cookies and hot cocoa. This is a beautiful life . Thanks for being part of it with us!

I do this about once a week. Clear the ground falls from the neighbors certified organic orchard. I get a workout and the piggies get finished on amazing produce. I love my pigs!
