Apple and Pumpkin Bone Bites for Dogs with Crunchy Homemade Texture and Three Simple Ingredients
Ingredients:
* 1 cup (245 g) unsweetened applesauce (plain, no added sugar)
* 1 cup (245 g) pumpkin purée (unsweetened)
* 2 1/2 cups (300 g) whole wheat flour (plus extra for rolling)

Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, combine the applesauce and pumpkin purée until smooth.
3. Gradually add the whole wheat flour and mix until a firm dough forms.
4. Knead the dough for 1–2 minutes, then roll it out to about 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) thick.
5. Cut the dough into bone shapes using a dog-bone cookie cutter.
6. Place the treats on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a small space between them.
7. Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and firm.
8. For extra-crunchy treats like those shown in the image, reduce the oven temperature to 225°F (107°C) and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
9. Cool completely before serving.
Storage:
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 7 days, in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving.
