We have many great days at Browne’s… but yesterday was absolutely EPIC!! ☘️
Yesterday, we got to celebrate our dear friend, Eddie Delahunt. Back in 2020, Eddie called and said we needed to make things a bit brighter for everyone. So, he brought his guitar and a stool, and he and Ian played music in the dirt lot behind Browne’s to a few scattered guests who showed up with lawn chairs.
That proud Irishman’s simple idea has blossomed into weekly celebrations at Browne’s. Now, it’s home to Irish music (and every other kind of music!), birthday parties, lunches, and loads of laughter. Over the past six years, the space has truly evolved, thanks to additions and construction from people far too numerous to mention.
But Saturday was all about celebrating the fella who had the vision and made it happen—and to his wife Betsy, and thanking the crowds of people who continue to come out to enjoy the music and each other.
To honor him, we officially named the new stage after himself: The Eddie Delahunt Stage. 🎤✨
Mayor Lucas and Councilman Kevin O’Neill presented Eddie with a city proclamation, and the Irish Consulate General, Robbie Hull, sent a beautiful letter honoring him. Best of all, you all came out to show him your love.
Here’s to many more concerts and great times with Eddie Delahunt and all the incredible musicians he has made a home for.
Fair play to ya, Eddie—good man yerself!
