Good afternoon,
After talking to a few of you during this week and to a little girl that relayed a very sweet message from her family, I decided to keep the store open and will have another Octoberfest on October 2nd next year.
I will step back and take a few days off next week, but the store will be open.
I want everyone to know, yes, we might ran out of some things this year, but the few of us tried our hardest to please everybody. You have to understand that I don’t have a big city, committee and a hundred volunteers to take care of everything. I don’t make my food two days ahead. Things were made fresh that day! I don’t have one of those big cut, weigh and roll dough machines that can take care of 500 Brötchen in 30 minutes. I roll every Brötchen by hand. They don’t come frozen and ready to bake.
Yes, I don’t have big coolers to keep drinks and b**r cold here in the store. Or a second slicers. I don’t have that kind of money to offer all of that. But what I was able to offer was authenticity, good food, B**r, German drinks, good customer service and lots of fun! It might not be big, but nothing happens overnight.
Mistakes are made, none of us are perfect, but I would hope people know they can come to me or ask for me and things can be fixed.
With that, I want to thank everyone that came to the Octoberfest, for everyone’s kind words and support.
