Till the Cows Come Home: Part 2 of the Epic 1.4 Mile Journey Back to the Farm

After an unforgettable trek down Clover Valley Rd., the cows officially made it safely back home thanks to the hard work of Amanda and Caitlin. Every cow was milked, settled in, and very happy to be back where they belong.

Fresh milk is flowing again, and to celebrate, milk is on sale for just $10 per gallon through Memorial Day weekend.

PART 1 — THE STORM

Nobody expected the creek to rise this fast.

After torrential downpours flooded the valley, our dairy herd was stranded across the creek — cut off from the milking barn and trapped on the wrong side of the water.

Wet and scared, they needed to get back home. It’s not a good idea not milk a dairy cow.

What followed was a 4.5 hour rescue mission in relentless rain.

A 1.4 mile cattle drive.
Two road crossings.
Half a dozen neighboring properties.
One raw milk dairy herd trying to get home.

This was mud, rain, exhaustion, and determination.

Part 2 tomorrow.

THE PIG AND THE TOAD

A single thriving wallow can produce thousands of American toads in just a few weeks.

Now scale that across a 10-acre pig preserve—with multiple flourishing wallows—and you’re looking at tens of thousands of frogs returning to the land each year.

And they don’t just exist… they work.

One adult toad can eat hundreds of insects per night—mosquitoes, flies, beetles, even ticks at ground level.

Multiply that by thousands, and you’ve created a living pest control system—no chemicals, just ecology doing its job.

This is what happens when farming works with nature.

The result isn’t just food.

It’s habitat. It’s balance. It’s fewer pests—naturally.

We said goodbye to an old barn… and hello to something we’ve been dreaming about.

Same land, just a new chapter—a space now home to a farm store packed with real food from local, legit, regenerative farms.

Happy Spring! We made it through winter and all the animals are so happy. Thank you to all the new customers at the Farm Store! We sold out of milk but there’s so much more on the way!

Every year, right before Easter we get a surplus of eggs. The chickens laying picks up and people buy white eggs to dye. We’d like to give people the opportunity to try our eggs and reward the people who frequent, with a little sale! Sale will last through Easter!!!! Thanks!!!

Not all raw milk is created equal.

1️⃣ Raw milk intended for pasteurization (produced in large systems, mixed, not designed for direct consumption)

2️⃣ Raw milk produced intentionally for people to drink — with on-farm bottling, hygiene protocols, and regular testing.

Knowing the difference matters.

If you’ve never shopped at a self-serve farm stand, this is your sign. Copia Farm in Johnstown, Ohio (just outside Columbus, Ohio) makes buying real food simple, intentional, and honestly kind of magical.

Their honor-system farm stand is open daily, and it’s stocked with far more than just meat and milk. You’ll find pasture-raised, regeneratively farmed beef and chicken, raw dairy, eggs, bone broth, honey, seasonal goods, and thoughtfully sourced local staples — all raised without seed oils, artificial dyes, or unnecessary additives.

Regenerative farming matters because it prioritizes healthy soil, well-cared-for animals, and nutrient-dense food that actually supports your body. And Copia does this with transparency, integrity, and heart. The family who owns and runs the farm is truly incredible, and it shows in every detail — from how the animals are raised to how the stand is run.

Cheers to choosing food that nourishes, supports local farms, and helps us live healthier, happier lives.

A big thank you to Chelsea Kuhn! This was a sponsored post but Chelsea has been a customer for years!
