Enjoying time with our Fareway veterans and first responders on the annual Giving Back Outdoors walleye fishing trip at South Dakota. This is my second time capturing these memories and it fills my cup. This year we had our first female employee who is also a National Guard soldier take the trip.

Great day supporting Young Variety - the Children's Charity of Iowa at their annual Sporting Clays event. Two Fareway Stores teams participated at Doc's Hunt Club in Adel. Best part was seeing a young boy named Hunter receive his mobility scooter.

Last night the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy hosted their annual dinner for chaplains from five states who've completed their training. Our Beaverdale Meat Market team served attendees which included Iowa AG Brenna Bird. It's an honor to recognize and feed those who show up during a critical incident and provide support and compassion for victims. Chaplains are the unsung heroes who work alongside our first responders - it truly is a calling & these men and women have answered it.

This afternoon cadets from the 325 & 326 basic academy classes visited HQ to pack meal kits as part of their community service project prior to graduation this Friday from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. On Wednesday they'll distribute these kits to families in the metro along with a $24 gift card from funds they raised and Fareway matched.

There's nothing like the - ChildServe does it BIG every year. Over $1 million raised for the kids. This year I took my two oldest & they were overly impressed with the production - that says something! Fareway Stores is very proud to partner with the organization throughout the year.
