Pete's Hot Dogs

Pete's Hot Dogs Best Hot Dog in Jersey! Forget the trendy food trucks of the big city and head to Jersey City for the BEST HOT DOG IN NJ! Awesomeness.

This dog stand has been in the same spot since 1931. According to 3rd generation operator Chris Lallo the most popular dog is covered in homemade chili and red onions. My husband swears by their red hot secret recipe pepper relish and thinly sliced auricchio provolone (this is an off the menu order...just ask) with chili, onions and mustard. Cool it off with a hand- pumped orange-ade. Ask about th

e black and white pic of the circa 1930 public pool adorning the side of the truck and add a slice of Jersey City history to your lunch. Ask Chris or his dad to turn up the Elvis radio and enjoy a great dog in the state that perfected it.

Meet the world's MOST EXPENSIVE hot dog. The hot dog meat is made of marbled Wagyu beef, dry-aged for 60 days and enriched with black truffle. A dry-aged seven rib roast of this type goes for $1,225 a pop. The hot dog meat sits between a toasted brioche bun, brushed with white truffle butter and slathered with organic, saffron-infused W Ketchup that goes for $9 a bottle and $35 mustard imported from France.

The hot dog is then topped with caramelized onions that have been cooked in Dom Perignon Champagne and $389 100-year-old balsamic vinegar. The next topping, the homemade sauerkraut, is braised with champagne worth several hundred dollars and mixed with the finest caviar legally available in the U.S. This elaborate hot dog is finally topped off with relish made from $10 pickles and a shimmering gold leaf.

Available at Restaurant 230 Fifth in NYC for $2300. The good news- all proceeds from the hot dogs go to City Harvest.
