What a wonderful way to start the day hosting this event! Sure hope we get to do more future events in this wonderful space - it is so amazing to have seen this old armory come alive with community all summer!

It’s not goodbye - it’s “see ya later!” 🍂🍁

And we’ll be IN COSTUME - Our very last summer market is Saturday - Halloween! We hope to see you and your pets in the same… JTV will be looking for the shining stars!
Thank you for your role in creating this vibrant community space… but we’re not done yet!

Come visit us on Saturday and vote for your favorite vendor decorated booth; paint a pumpkin, create some crafts, let the kiddos trick-or-treat, get some fresh veggies, register to WIN the biggest pumpkin EVER placed in the history of the market - spend your time with us in this wonderful, vibrant community space!

Excited for the Christmas season? WE ARE!
We can’t guarantee the BIG GUY in the red suit will be here (yet!) but his first-in-command Mrs. Claus WILL be here SATURDAY!! You can get info about our Christkindl Market that starts Black Friday, and ask about vendor pop-ups, classes, get-togethers, and all kinds of fun throughout the winter! We’re not going to let you go so easily!

Though we don’t have a formal winter market this year, remember, even better…
The River & Rail continues to be open all winter, every day, and we carry most of the things you find at the farmers market - and more! So many things priced at cost, please be sure to make us the first stop on your weekly grocery run!

Our staff welcomes you to come in for a coffee, tea, cocoa, or conversation any day of the week - look for an introduction this week to the staff and smiling faces you’ll find when you walk through our doors!

It’s our last 2026 Friday, and it looks like we’ll be enjoying a truly crisp, brisk fall morning at last, in true Michigan fashion - we’ve got hot coffee, tea, lattes, mochas and more inside at the River & Rail Farm Stop cafe to get your motor warmed up for shopping! And -

That means it’s hot soup season! Did you know? Root vegetables reach their peak flavor at autumn farmers' markets because cooler weather turns their starches into natural sugars; Carrots are sweeter and crisper after the first frost, beets sweeten up with earthy flavors, parsnips develop a rich, nutty, and sweet taste when touched by cold weather, sweet potatoes are at their peak, turnips and rutabagas lose their sharp bite, radishes add a little more kick, and classic storage potato staples like Yukon Gold, red, and russet varieties are freshly dug and great for roasting! And by nature, all of these can be stored for quite awhile under the right conditions (in a cool, dark, and well-ventilated space - ideally 32°F to 40°F - to prevent sprouting, shriveling, and rotting) so don’t be afraid to stock up!
