π A HEARTFELT THANK YOU FROM OUR FAMILY & LAKE FARMS π
As we head into October, we wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone who has supported our family and our pumpkin patch over the years.
To the customers who have continued to come back, who know the quality of pumpkins we grow, and who understand the time and work that goes into producing them β we truly appreciate you more than you know. β€οΈ
We also want to be honest about something that has been on our minds.
Our prices have been higher than some of the other pumpkin patches you may see. We understand that, and we understand that everyone is watching their dollars right now. The economy is affecting families, businesses and farms alike.
The cost of producing pumpkins has continued to increase β labor, equipment, fuel, fertilizer, crop protection products, insurance, supplies and, most importantly, the countless hours and time our family puts into growing them. We have always tried to provide pumpkins that we are proud to put our name on, and we have worked hard to grow the best and most unique crop we can.
π± This year, our pumpkin crop is the biggest we have ever had. And while that is something we are incredibly proud of, it also means we have a LOT of pumpkins that need homes.
So, starting tomorrow, September 28th, we are lowering our pumpkin prices. Our hope is that this allows more families to enjoy our pumpkins while helping us make sure the crop we worked so hard to grow does not go to waste.
And to those of you who have already stopped by and purchased pumpkins at our original prices β we haven't forgotten you. If you come back and want to take home some extra pumpkins to make up some of the difference, please talk to us. We want to make it right. β€οΈπ
Our pumpkin patch has never been just about selling pumpkins. It was created for our children β to teach them about commodity markets, hard work, agriculture, responsibility, perseverance, entrepreneurship, and what it means to be a good neighbor. Some years are great. Some years are challenging. And sometimes you have to adjust, work harder and figure things out along the way.
That is agriculture.
So thank you β to the families who visit, the customers who come back year after year, the people who tell their friends about us, and everyone who has supported our family and our little piece of agriculture.
Thank you for choosing local. Thank you for supporting our family. And thank you for helping us turn a field of pumpkins into lessons our children will carry with them for years to come. πβ€οΈ
