Madison County Farmers Market ✨Welcome to our 212th season✨
Established 1814
Open for the 2026 Season:
Saturdays 8 AM - 2 PM through November 21st

The Madison County Farmer's Market is one of the oldest institutions still in business. The market started out in the basement of the Madison County Courthouse as early as 1814. The market has been moved many times over the years before the present building was constructed in 1984. The middle portion is set aside for 50 produce farmers to sell their fresh fruits and vegetables.

Community doesn’t have to be big to matter. 💚

Sometimes it’s simply choosing to show up for the people around you.

Every Saturday, our vendors bring a little piece of their lives to the market - something they grew, baked, gathered, made, or spent time preparing. And every person who stops by, has a conversation, or takes something home becomes a small part of keeping that going.

That’s what makes a farmers market special. It isn’t only about what’s on the tables. It’s about knowing the people behind them, supporting what they’re building, and creating a place where people can keep showing up for one another.

We’d love for you to be part of it. 🌿

A good reminder to share during harvest season! 🌾🚜

Many of the farmers have to use the same roads we do to move equipment between fields. If you come across farm equipment on the road, slow down, give them plenty of space, and be patient until it’s safe to pass.

A few extra minutes of patience can help make sure everyone gets home safely. 💚

The rain has arrived, but we’re still here and the market is covered! ☔️ 🍃

And there is A LOT to look through this morning - fresh apples, sweet potatoes, winter squash, greens, plenty of peppers, local honey, pickled goods, boiled peanuts, sourdough, hand pies, cookies, homemade seasonings and drinks, apothecary goods, quilted and crocheted items, and more!

The Baking Lab also has a new Butter Vanilla Cake flavor this morning, and it looks incredible. 🍰

Don’t let a rainy Saturday keep you at home. Come stay dry under the market, take a walk through the tables, see some new faces, and see what we have today!

We’re glad to see the Madison County Farmers Market featured by News 19 as part of their Growing the Valley series! 🌿

The market has a history dating back to 1814, but what keeps that history going are the people who continue to show up - the growers, bakers, makers, and vendors who put so much time and work into what they bring to the market each week.

There’s something special about being able to stand across from the person who grew the tomato you’re buying, baked the bread you’re taking home, or made something by hand. You get to know where it came from, meet the person behind it, and keep that support within the local community.

In a place that has changed and grown so much over the years, we’re proud to have a place where this piece of our agricultural history can continue while introducing new customers and families to the people who grow and make things right here in our community. 💚

Take a look at News 19’s story about the history of the Madison County Farmers Market below!

For more than 200 years, the Madison County Farmer’s Market has been an integral part of the county’s history with agriculture.

Tomorrow is looking like a cloudy, comfortable fall morning with temperatures in the 70s - and remember, the market is covered, so a little rain doesn’t have to keep you away!
