Down Home Salads is a food manufacturing facility that sells wholesale and retail products to grocery stores, restaurants, and retail customers. Food preparation, food processing, and canning are daily kitchen functions here at Down Home Salads and an ideal applicant would have some experience working with food and food preparation. We are looking for a full time (30-40 hours per week) person to fill an open position of Food Preparation Worker.

A valid drivers license and good driving record is required. Must adhere to drug testing as well. Exceptional customer service and timely delivery of product to meet the needs of our many customers in WV, KY, and OH is of the utmost importance. Our retail storefront is open Tuesday through Saturday for walk in customers as well. Applications can be picked up at the store, and/or email resume to [email protected].

down Home Salads is hiring for 1 full time position. Candidate would work 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday-Friday.

Daily Job Duties:

•Prepare a multitude of hot and cold food products for local restaurants, groceries and catering events.

•Occasionally deliver product to clients and vendors.

•Keep kitchen clean and organized per the requirements and rules laid out by the West Virginia Department of Health.

Requirements:

•Valid driver's license and reliable source of transportation.

•Ability to physically be on feet preparing food products for prolonged periods of time.

•Ability to occasionally regularly up to 50 pounds.

•Excellent customer service skills.

•Ability to follow instructions laid out by WV Department of Health and store manager.

•Ability to multi-task and perform job duties in a fast-paced environment.

This is a fabulous tasting cheesecake. White Chocolate Raspberry. Makes us think of Valentines Day coming up. We’ve used only the best ingredients: Ghiradelli white chocolate, raspberry purée(Shady Oaks Farm), fresh farm eggs (Call Farm), and Snowville Creamery cream. Pierogi. Old-World Comfort food at its best. Pierogi is a slightly chewy dumpling made of flour, egg, butter, sour cream or yogurt, and salt. Traditional filling is made up of potatoes. We’ve cooked up 3 varieties: potato & cheddar, Reuben(pastrami & sauerkraut), and Buffalo Chicken (Just in time for Super Bowl Sunday). These are available now in pre-packaged clamshells. We’ve been working on some products for the New Year. First up is our canned applesauce. Available in 3 flavors: Original, Strawberry, and Peach. Our 2nd new product is a delicious whole fruit juice available in two flavors. Both products contain locally sourced fruits and/or vegetables. Available here at our market and The Wild Ramp later today.

Yes. This cake does taste as good as it looks. We’ve taken our favorite pumpkin cake recipe and replaced the pumpkin with butternut squash. Why butternut? We think the the flavor of this fall squash pairs perfectly with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The cake is topped off with a real maple syrup glaze. Most of the ingredients (butternut, eggs, maple syrup)were sourced from local farms, or locally produced. Even the vanilla is handmade using bourbon from Smooth Ambler Spirits.

This applesauce is delicious! We’ve taken gold rush apples from Fuhrmann Orchards, LLC. We added just a bit of sugar (they are so sweet, not much sugar was needed) and lemon juice. That’s it. Only three ingredients. You’ve got to try this. We’re thinking this side dish deserves some pork chops and biscuits to go with it. Our applesauce is sold in 16 ounce containers. Available this evening at The Wild Ramp.
