Monday morning farm harvest ramblings.....
Spring is usually my most favorite time of the year.
The new growth, the seeds and seedlings going into the ground, the excitement for the season to come, the feel and smell of fresh tilled soil...all of those things and more have always given me energy and joy and encouragement. This year was no different.
Summer, markets, preserving, and the bounty bring hard work and blessed customers and full shelves. I can't not mention all the blood and sweat and tears that go into farming. Challenges arise, and perseverance comes, and before too long, we arrive at fall.
Fall is usually hard for me for many reasons. This season is different. Maybe it is the family circumstances we are walking through right now that leads to this difference, and maybe it is age. But, there is a peace this year. As the season is winding down and plots are being put to rest, the transition is easier and my heart is full. I am embracing the coming rest (and even taking time to rest now despite the beautiful sunny weather). I am slowing down and stopping and enjoying this day and this week and this season. I can finally see the gift of autumn and the beauty that comes after a full and busy season.
All of that to say, I'm growing and being stretched. It is beautiful and painful all at the same time. For now, I will sit on my wagon full of harvested goods and enjoy the breeze and views and sounds.
You can find us this week at the farm. We are available by appointment and on Tuesday from 1 pm to 6 pm and Friday from 1 pm to 5 pm. We still have a large quantity of farm fresh goodness!
We look forward to serving you!
