It sits just below Leroux Creek National Forest and the Grand Mesa (one of the world’s largest flat top mountains), at an elevation of 6,500 feet. Surrounded by wildlife & conservation properties, the farm has a unique and diverse landscape. An elevated cedar forest covers the west side of the property providing shade for the animals in the summer and organic compost matter for the pastures. A nat
ural spring on the farm provides pure fresh water for the animals year round. The animals are pasture raised on 50 acres of high meadow grass. Loaded with clover and alfalfa, the organic pasture is comprised of over 7 natural grasses. No herbicides, pesticides, or chemicals have ever been used since the farm has been on this property. In addition to raising animals, the farm grows its own hay. This ensures control over the animals food source when they need supplemental feed. We have been farming this land since 2004. We have always had a small herd of 100% pastured beef and raised chicken, lamb, & pig on occasion. The meat was raised for our own consumption and sold to close friends & family. Four Sisters Farm starting selling to the public in 2010. We have always sold our 100% pastured beef and lamb raised by one of the farms neighbors. We added seasonal pastured chicken to our offering in the summer of 2011 and are adding pork & spring trout in the summer of 2012. We hope to one day raise our own lamb, turkey’s, & egg laying chickens.
