There is a lot happening tomorrow in Jefferson and Shelby counties. We encourage everyone to shop and support your local farmers' markets. Certified farmers' markets ensure that everything you purchase is fresh, locally grown, raised, and made in Alabama. Our team at The Market at Brock's Gap sets up at Brock’s Gap Brewing Company and is Hoover's only certified market.

I love a reminder shared by another market about who we are supporting when we shop:

We are shopping with our Alabama farmers, who live just an hour or two down the road. They are picking fresh produce from their gardens today to bring to market tomorrow—think strawberries, onions, cucumbers, cabbage, squash, zucchini, beets, mushrooms, and microgreens. It's our neighbors who have been up since early this morning prepping, baking, and packaging their products. It’s the men and women who make candles or soap in their garages at night after putting their children to bed.

When you spend a Saturday morning at a local farmers' market, you’re not just buying jam; you’re putting money back into the local economy.

*We know everyone is eager for tomatoes, and we are too, but Alabama-grown tomatoes aren’t quite ready for harvest yet.

We are open on Saturdays only, from 8 AM to noon, rain or shine, and we can’t wait to see you!

The Farmers Market at Brock's Gap is open every Saturday from 8 am - noon, rain or shine!

*Please note that on Saturday, May 23rd (for that Saturday only), our farmers market will set up at Arise Knox Square, which is conveniently located just across the street from The Met. This change is made to create more space at the brewery during the SEC Baseball Tournament and to help our team of Alabama farmers and local small business owners stay open during one of the busiest weeks of the year in the City of Hoover. Darian took another job, so Aquality Farms hasn't been at the farmers' market the past few weeks. Samuel found a replacement; YAY!!!

This Saturday, May 9, WELCOME, Josh Beasley, Triple J Produce, Steele, AL!

Josh is bringing squash, zucchini, and beets to market this weekend! He has also planted tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet corn, straight and crookneck zucchini, eggplant, green beans, carrots, spinach, romaine lettuce, onions, garlic, cucumbers, potatoes, cantaloupes, peppers, and watermelon!
