We brew coffee at events, including weekly at the Kaka'ako Farmers Market and the Mililani Farmers Market, we offer coffee tours, and we provide coffee education.

At long last, Grok Coffee is offering coffee tours on O'ahu!

We've partnered with the Hawai'i Agriculture Research Center to create a tour of their facility and their coffee field. Of course, learning about and drinking coffee is the main focus!

Tours begin in November and are available Tuesday mornings. We'll expand the offerings if (when?!) there's demand.

This is the only coffee tour on O'ahu. It is led by our owner, Shawn Steiman, PhD: coffee scientist, author, and educator. You will learn things here that you won't learn anywhere else.

This past weekend, we hosted a cupping of The Fermentation Project (created by the wondrous James Hoffman and amazing Lucia Solis). As always, we were surprised by what we tasted. We are gratefully to our customers who chose to join is.

We are a hosting a tasting of James Hoffman's and Lucia Solis' Fermentation Project. Coffee from one farm processed 4 different ways!

Prior to tasting, we'll put coffee processing in context so it all has some meaning.

The tasting is Sunday, October 4, 2-4pm at Grok Coffee headquarters. Tickets are $12.

Grok Coffee's owner has been attending Slow Food's Terra Madre event in Turin, Italy. Shawn discovered an extraordinarily w**e bar that aligns with how he wishes cafes would operate.

There is no menu. There is no talk of varieties or colors. There are no details. The owner asks you what you are in the mood for and she selects the w**e for you (she always offers a taste before pouring the glass).

It is an amazing experience to have to describe your desires and feelings and hope the w**e that arrives suits you. Here, it almost always does.

If Grok Coffee ever goes brick-and-mortar, it will be something like this.

On March 27, 2022, Grok Coffee and Broken Boundary Brewery began their public Dueling Shirts contest. On May 17, 2022, they published The Rules of Dueling Shirts:

This past weekend, ʻŌlohana Brewpub (by Kalihi B**r) closed for business. We went to celebrate the lives of this brewery (and to drink more than we should have). And, of course, to have one final, winner-takes-all, Dueling Shirt contest!
