Tonight feels incredibly special for our little town and for our vendor family. ๐คโจ
Yesterday, we officially received approval from Devine City Council to move forward with creating a brand new downtown market experience here in Devine. A space built for community, connection, small businesses, local agriculture, music, art, late evenings under the lights, and the kind of gatherings that make a town feel alive again.
As I stood at that podium, I could not help but reflect on how many beautiful connections have blossomed over these last months. From the wonderful family in Castroville who opened their hearts and property to our market family, to now building a new partnership right here in my hometown โ it has been such a reminder that there truly is space for all of us to grow together.
I am deeply grateful for the coordinators I have crossed paths with over the years who inspired and encouraged me, and who showed us what it truly means to put vendors first โ to lead with love, kindness, community, and just a little bit of pixie dust. โจ
My husband and I are forever grateful for Yvonne Bartee Patton & Krista Marie Scott, and their entire teams for the inspiration they poured into us along the way. Watching the beautiful spaces they created for vendors and communities helped shape so much of the vision we carry in our hearts today. Their encouragement, guidance, and example helped us believe that these kinds of markets could be something truly meaningful.
None of this happens alone. Every vendor, customer, host, musician, fellow coordinator, business owner, friend, and family member has helped shape this journey in some way.
Our hope has always been bigger than simply hosting markets. We want to create experiences that bring people back together. Places where local businesses can thrive, families can slow down for an evening, children can dance to live music, neighbors can reconnect, and our small towns can continue to bloom in beautiful ways.
Devineโฆ we are so excited for what is ahead. ๐โจ
