🧀⚔️ Saturday is the day for a... FOOD FIGHT! ⚔️🧀

Calling all professional cheese tasters!

Over the last few weeks, we've been developing new cheese curd flavors. Using your feedback, the Amo Creamery food scientists have been hard at work perfecting these recipes.

Now it's time to choose the best flavor to hit store shelves—and we need your help!

On Saturday, you'll have the chance to sample and vote for your favorite:

🌶️ Jalapeño
🔥 Buffalo
🥒 Dill Pickle
🍋 Lemon Pepper
🌶️ Chipotle

You'll be able to taste each flavor and cast your vote for the one you think deserves a place in our lineup.

Love a flavor so much that you'd like to vote twice? Purchase a limited-edition bag and you'll earn an extra vote!

🚨 This is not a drill! Four of these five flavors may never be available again, so don't miss your chance to try them.

🧀🥛 Fresh Local Dairy Has Arrived in Jackson! 🥛🧀

We’re excited to share that Amo Creamery milk is now available in another wonderful Southwest Minnesota community! You can now find our easy-to-digest Creamline A2A2 milk, the best chocolate milk, fresh cheese curds, and aged block cheddar at Schwalbach Ace Hardware in Jackson, MN.

📍 Schwalbach Ace Hardware

Jackson, MN 56143

It’s a pleasure working with the team at Schwalbach Ace Hardware. As a locally owned family hardware store, they share many of the same values as Amo Creamery—service, quality, and community. In fact, our farm has been doing business with them for nearly 70 years!

This partnership is especially meaningful to our family. We can trace our roots back to Jackson County, where our family originally settled near Fish Lake. My grandfather, Maynard Johnson, was born in Jackson County and worked on a farm in Kimball Township. It was there that his love of farming was born.

He also met the love of his life, Ellen, after she moved to Jackson to teach at the elementary school. Jackson County became the place where he found both of his lifelong passions: farming and family.

We’re proud to have our milk and cheese delivered to a community that played such an important role in our family’s story.

If you’ve enjoyed our products—or know someone in Jackson—tag them in the comments and help spread the word that local dairy has arrived! 💛🐄

Thank you again to Schwalbach Ace Hardware for the opportunity to share great dairy in Jackson, Windom, and Worthington.

Got a bag of cheese curds that’s about a week from the best-buy date—or even past it?

Sprinkle those curds over Whole Grain Milling tortilla chips and make amazing, stringy cheese nachos. 😋🌽🧀

We’re happy to help connect you with bulk and specialty items from several of our amazing local partners! 💛

Available bulk items includes:
🍯 Bulk honey from Delft Honey Company
🌾 Whole Grain Milling products like wheat berries, flour, and cornmeal
🍨 3-gallon tubs of SDSU Ice Cream (with advance notice)

How does it work?

Simply stop by the creamery and let us know what you’re interested in! Most bulk or specialty items can typically be ready within about a week as we coordinate with our local partners to put everything together.

🌾 Whole Grain Milling and ☕️ Half Pint Coffee Company both offer a much larger selection of products than what we’re able to regularly stock in our store. 🧀🔬 Calling All Cheese Lovers! 🔬🧀

This is your chance to help shape the future of curds coming out of Amo Township!

Our “cheese scientists” are back in the lab testing new flavored cheese curds, and we want YOUR feedback. We’ll only be choosing a few flavors to move forward into stores—so your vote could help decide the winners! 👀

🥒 Dill Pickle — our most requested flavor yet!

This is already our second round of testing, and we’ve received fantastic feedback on Lemon Pepper and Jalapeño. Those flavors will return alongside the top picks from this round to compete on June 6th, when the best recipes will go head-to-head in the final flavor showdown for a place on store shelves. 🏆🧀

☀️ Help us discover the taste of summer!

💛 Gratitude Sunday — Memorial Day 💛

Memorial Day is often thought of as the start of summer—the kickoff to so many memories waiting to be made when the weather turns warm and we can spend time outside with family and friends. It’s fitting that all this goodness comes with a moment of reflection for the sacrifices made by those before us that made it possible.

Part of today was spent enjoying the beautiful weather outside, but also looking through my Grandpa Maynard Johnson’s WWII photo album.

In 1943, he put his life on hold and left the family farm in Kimball Township in Jackson County to serve his country. Farming was already his passion and full-time work since finishing the 8th grade. But with two younger brothers still able to work the farm, he was called to serve.

During the war, he traveled to the Philippines where he helped build telegraph lines across the islands. After Japan surrendered, his unit was redeployed to Japan to assist in rebuilding efforts. Much of that time was spent baking bread while industry and infrastructure were rebuilt.

Even throughout the war, he never stopped thinking about farming. He sold his rations of ci******es, alcohol, and chocolate to save money for his dream of returning home to farm.

When he returned, the family farm had moved near Jeffers, Minnesota. Using the savings from his service, he purchased a tractor and square baler and started custom baling for neighbors. He worked hard enough to pay off the equipment and build savings that would eventually help purchase the land in Amo Township in 1969.

The opportunities we enjoy today were built on sacrifice, discipline, and people willing to put service before themselves. Stories like his are important to remember because they remind us where our communities, farms, and freedoms came from.

This Memorial Day, enjoy the weather and the time with loved ones—but also take a moment to remember those who made it possible and share their stories with the next generation. 🇺🇸🐄

Tomorrow, I will be taking part with the Windom Chordhustlers at the Memorial Day Program at the Windom Community Center. It is a wonderful event put on by American Legion Post 206 and a meaningful opportunity to remember why we have so much to be grateful for.

🕥 The program begins at 10:30 AM at the Windom Community Center.

🧈🥛 Big News for Marshall, MN! 🥛🧈

Amo Creamery is excited to announce that we will now be supplying Springfield Creamery Butter to Marshall Hy-Vee! 🎉

You can now find Springfield Creamery butter alongside our easy-to-digest Amo Creamery Creamline A2A2 milk and squeaky cheese curds right in Marshall.

Springfield Creamery butter is churned in small batches using their original recipe at Minnesota’s last small butter plant, located in Hope, Minnesota. Simply put—you won’t find better butter on a grocery store shelf. Rich, creamy, and full of flavor, it’s the kind of butter that takes baking, cooking, and everyday meals to the next level. 🧈💛

This butter will take your baking to the next level. It gives cookies that soft, rich texture that practically oozes flavor. 😋😋😋 And you’ll definitely know the difference on your toast.

At Amo Creamery, we’re passionate about connecting communities with high-quality local food and supporting fellow Minnesota dairy businesses. It’s an honor to work with Marshall Hy-Vee to continue expanding local options for families in the area.

From our farmstead creamery south of Marshall to your kitchen table—thank you for supporting local farmers, local businesses, and local food traditions. 🐄🌾

On behalf of the Johnson family — Ethan, Dean, and Elizabeth (an SMSU alum!) — thank you for helping keep great dairy close to home.

👉 If you know someone in Marshall who loves local food and great butter, tag them or share this post to help spread the word!

🔨💛 Building With Gratitude 💛🔨

Today, we’d like to recognize another business that helped make Amo Creamery a reality — Hill Country Doors.

When we needed two overhead doors installed at the creamery, our carpenter recommended Hill Country Doors. Brody quickly provided us with a quote and presented door options from multiple companies. He took the time to walk us through the benefits of each option, allowing us to make an informed decision for the creamery.

While installing the new doors, my dad asked Brody about ongoing issues we had been experiencing with three existing overhead doors on the farm. Brody offered to take a look, and within an hour he had all three doors working properly again after they had been causing problems for nearly a year.

That level of service and willingness to help made a lasting impression on us. So when it came time to install another overhead door a year later, there was no question who we would call.

Thank you to Hill Country Doors for being a great partner and for helping make Amo Creamery possible! 🐄🚜
