Why don't you sell (insert animal, produce, baked good, or animal product here)?
I get asked this question a lot, and here are a few reasons I don't make it a habit selling things.
1. Almost no one values my time or animals as I do.
2. There's an unrealistic expectation that homemade or farm products will resemble mass-produced supermarket foods.
3. I hate getting ghosted 👻🥴 along with the overly needy person that ends up backing out last minute for some odd reason anyways.
4. Some people say, 'I'll only buy if you match the x price someone else is offering.' If that's what you want, go buy it from them.
5. Many animals have significant value to me, whether for food or companionship, which often exceeds buyers' budgets. They get pretty upset when they low ball me and I say 'No, I'll butcher them for that!', which is honestly what I'll be doing, as they are also our food source.
Sorry for the rant. While some people are pleasant to work with, the unpleasant ones seem to be getting more common.
