We used toy cars to create tracks and patterns with paint, working on fine-motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, and cause-and-effect.
🧟‍♀️🎃 Then we turned our artwork into a fun Halloween craft and let those imaginations run wild!
This is one of the things I love most about homeschooling. Learning doesn't always have to happen in a workbook. Sometimes it happens through messy hands, creativity, play, and exploration. ❤️
These are the moments that make homeschooling so special. 🥰
Learning through play. Creating through imagination. Growing through experience. 📚🎨🚗

🌱 Learn at their own pace
🌳 Spend more time outdoors and in nature
🔬 Make learning hands-on and meaningful
📖 Follow their interests and strengths
❤️ Build stronger family relationships
⏰ Have a flexible schedule
🧠 Go deeper when something sparks curiosity
🏡 Learn in a safe, loving environment
🌎 Connect lessons to real life
✨ Teach character, responsibility, and family values
We get to turn everyday moments into learning opportunities—from watching bugs in the backyard to doing science experiments, reading together, exploring outside, cooking, creating, and asking a million questions. 🐛🔬🌿📖
Homeschooling may not look the same for every family, and that’s the beauty of it. There is no one-size-fits-all education.

There's something so satisfying about bringing fresh vegetables in from the garden and getting them ready for the freezer. 💚 Today I'm slicing up zucchini, green tomatoes, peppers, and okra so we'll have a taste of summer all winter long.
A few freezing tips: 🫑 Bell peppers & banana peppers: Wash, chop, and freeze raw in freezer bags. No blanching needed. 🥒 Zucchini: Slice and blanch for 1–2 minutes before freezing for the best texture (or freeze shredded zucchini for baking). 🌱 Okra: Wash, slice, blanch for 3–4 minutes, cool in ice water, dry well, and freeze. 🍅 Green tomatoes: Slice and freeze on a baking sheet first, then transfer to freezer bags. They're great later for fried green tomatoes.
Every bag in the freezer is a little reminder of God's blessings and the hard work that goes into growing our own food. ❤️ Nothing beats filling your pantry and freezer with homegrown goodness!

🌾 “From Yard to Table: A Simple Forager’s Salad” 🌾
There’s a quiet kind of magic in stepping outside your door, basket in hand, and gathering a meal the way folks once did—slow, mindful, and close to the earth.
If you look closely, your own yard may already be offering a humble feast.
🌿 Safe & Common Backyard Greens 🌿
🍃 Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale)
Young leaves are best—slightly bitter, but full of goodness. The flowers can be tossed in for a pop of sunshine.
🍃 Chickweed
Tender, mild, and juicy. A perfect base green for any wild salad.
🍃 Plantain
Not the banana—this low-growing leaf is gentle in taste and soothing to the body.
🍃 Wild Violet
Soft leaves and sweet little flowers—beautiful and entirely edible.
🍃 Wood Sorrel
Looks like clover, tastes like lemon. A bright, tangy addition (enjoy in small amounts).
⚠️ A Few Old Ways to Stay Safe ⚠️
• Only harvest what you can clearly identify—when in doubt, leave it be
• Avoid roadsides, sprayed lawns, and places pets frequent
• Rinse everything well in cool water
• Try a small amount first if it’s new to you
🥣 A Simple Yard Salad 🥣
Gather a handful of each green
Add a sprinkle of violet flowers
Toss with:
• A drizzle of oil
• A splash of vinegar
• A pinch of salt
That’s all you need. Honest food. Nothing fancy.
