Here is an update for tomorrow's Hampstead Farmers' Market.

Jim Lewis is entertaining us for the first time with his musical talents! Show him some love tomorrow - he plays all over the greater Baltimore metropolitan area!

To all the dads, to those who long to be fathers but cannot, and to the men who step in for children not their own and love them as if they were, Happy Father's Day!

Last Saturday, at the Hampstead Farmers' Market, we had beautiful weather, plenty of sunshine, a light wind, and a steady flow of customers. Our next update will include more photos of the day.

We would like to highlight a vendor and a dog.

First, the vendor: Adam's Maryland Blues. They have been a market vendor for several years. They have the freshest lemonade and sweet, delicious snow cones. They also sell crabs. The hard-shell crab has not come in significant quantities to sell. I was told that they may have some very soon. But they do have soft-shell crabs. We would suggest arriving early to get the best selections. This writer did! I found the largest 'whale' (the largest size soft-shell crab according to size) I've ever seen! As soon as I got home, cleaned it, lightly dusted it with flour and Old Bay, sauteed it in butter, along with sauteed squash from Wike Family Farms! What an early summer treat!

Last week, we conducted our first Cutest Dog Contest. We were rewarded with lots of wonderful dogs and their great owners. Number 10 is Zoey, a black Labrador owned by Kyle and Brielle Phillips. She is a very happy dog who loves to be petted! And those cute pink crocs!

Sweet Sisters is a late scratch for tomorrow's market due to illness.

Also, new to the Hampstead Farmers' Market, Tony Pappas, a masseur (male massage therapist), will be at the market tomorrow.

The farmers' market opens at 8:30 AM and closes at noon. We are located at 1400 Panther Drive, Hampstead, Maryland. The North Carroll Panthers water tower is your landmark.

Hampstead Farmers' Market meets every Saturday from June through September at the Pantherplex (old North Carroll High School) parking lot. The address is 1400 Panther Drive, Hampstead, Maryland. We open at 8:30 AM and close at noon.

What a very nice opening day for Hampstead Farmers' Market last Saturday! We had a few very brief showers, not enough to stop nearly 3,000 customers from coming to this market. There were at least 3 vendors who sold out early, one of which sold out before 10 AM! It was not because of not bringing enough product - historically, the first day is a heavily attended farmers' market. The extended weather forecast calls for very pleasant early-summer weather!

Here are a few announcements:

The winner of Cutest Dog will be announced tomorrow. The numbers are in!

The Vendor of the Day (Saturday) winner will also be announced tomorrow. More details tomorrow.

There is a Vendor of the Month opportunity at the end of this month. More details to come!

Since Independence Day falls on Saturday, we will celebrate it in style. More details to come.

Look for the vendor lineup for Saturday's market to be posted on Thursday or Friday.

Now, here is what you have been waiting for: DOGGY VOTE from Saturday's Hampstead Farmers' Market! There are 17 dogs to select from. In the lower-right corner of each photo is the photo number, 1 through 17.

Here are the rules for voting for the cutest dog:
1 You can only vote once. Identify the dog you feel is the cutest, and comment on the number of the dog in the lower right corner of the photo. Remember, we are voting for THE cutest dog! Also, please do not reply to a cast vote. This is someone who has voted for a dog, and you reply to that vote with one of your own.
2. All votes must be posted before 8 PM, Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Any votes posted after this date/time will not be counted.
3. After the votes are tabulated, the cutest dog will be posted on this page on June 10, 2026, at 3:00 PM.
4. All votes will be counted only on this page.
5. The prize will be awarded to the cutest dog next Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 9 AM. The prize will be a doggy gift bag donated by a vendor who sells dog treats. Please bring your dog with you.

Note: if you brought your fur-baby to Saturday's farmers' market and he/she was not photographed, we are sorry. With the significantly large crowd we had Saturday, it would have been easy to miss a few special fur-babies. We may run a similar event later in the summer.
