Our family is truly overwhelmed and thankful for the outpouring of love, kind words and acts of service we’ve received since announcing the closing of the store. Your support has meant the world to us and reminded us just how special our small-town community really is. I hope everyone continues supporting the independent businesses in Haleyville. The grocery store, the pharmacies, the hardware stores and all the others that really are the backbone of the community. They are the ones that help support the schools and all the activities of the community. I think this city will thrive if everyone gets involved. After much prayer and careful consideration, our family has made the incredibly difficult decision to close Goar's Market, which has proudly served Haleyville and the surrounding communities since 1966. The store has been a labor of love for my dad, myself, Clay, and our family. We've poured our hearts into it, and it has truly been an honor to serve our community. We want to sincerely thank our loyal customers and dedicated employees who have supported us through the years. Your trust and loyalty have meant more than words can express. While this chapter is closing, we will always cherish the memories and relationships built along the way.
