Our newest greenhouse is making big progress! 🌱

All of the wind bracing is now completed and installed, and we officially have plastic pulled on both end walls. With today’s sunshine, blue skies, and almost no wind, conditions couldn’t have been much better for getting it done.

This high tunnel is a little different from our others — it’s oriented north-south instead of east-west. We’re hoping that orientation will help keep temperatures a bit cooler during the heat of summer and create a better growing environment for summer production.

Every new greenhouse teaches us something new, and we’re excited to see how this one performs! ☀️🏗️🥬

🥕🌽 Fresh veggies are headed to Garnavillo! 🌿

We’ll be in Garnavillo this Thursday, May 28th from 4:00 PM–6:00 PM with a great selection of fresh-picked vegetables ready for your kitchen table.

The weather is looking beautiful, so it’s the perfect evening to stop by, stock up, and enjoy some local produce. We’d love to see you there! 🚜☀️

Tomato pruning and trellising season is underway 🍅🌱

These are some of our cherry tomatoes that we’re growing this season. We're growing 4 varieties this year of cherry tomatoes. The plants are taking off fast, and next up we’ll be installing wickets so we can begin the “lower and lean” process to keep them growing strong and to keep them productive all season long.

A lot of work goes into keeping tomatoes healthy, upright, and producing consistently… but it’s worth it, especially when the tomatoes really start rolling in!☀️

We’re always looking for ways to make market mornings run a little smoother… and we’re wondering why we didn’t think of this sooner. 😅

This week involved a little tractor time and some gravel moving, and now we’ve got ourselves a brand new “loading dock” right outside the building. No more awkward lifting and climbing into the van — just ground-level loading straight in. At 4:00 AM, efficiency matters.

The goal? Spend less time loading and more time bringing you fresh produce at the market… or maybe Andrew can sleep in a few extra minutes instead. 🥬🚐😂

We're at Millwork Night Market until 8pm!

☀️ We officially flipped the big switch this week on our new solar array!

The final electrical work was completed, inspections passed, and permission to operate came through fast — just in time for a stretch of sunny weather. Now we’re officially producing power on the farm (and offsetting our utility costs)

Meanwhile, the ducks and geese have appointed themselves as the solar maintenance crew, keeping the grass trimmed under the panels… though judging by the looks they’re giving me, I’m not sure they’re happy with management. 🦆🪿⚡🌱

Pretty exciting milestone for the farm, and even better to see it all up and running alongside the greenhouses.
....And if you want to catch us in person, we’ll be at the Millwork Night Market in Dubuque tomorrow night! Stop by and say hi — we’ll have a variety of fresh produce with us!

Stumbled across a photo from our very first farmers market in Guttenberg back in 2021… and wow, what a difference a few short years can make!

From a small setup and a handful of produce to full tables, greenhouses, CSA boxes, and additional markets — a lot has changed along the way. There have been plenty of long days, lessons learned, and growing pains, but we’re still pushing forward and not slowing down anytime soon.

We’re thankful for everyone that’s supported us from the beginning all the way to today.

Next up: we’ll be in Dubuque this Thursday for the Millwork Night Market from 5PM–8PM. Stop down, say hi, and grab some fresh produce!
