🎃 That’s a wrap on our 2026 Core Market Season!
We wrapped up our last weekly Sunday market of the 2026 Core Market Season with our Pumpkin Party, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to end it. We even managed to dodge the thunderstorms that were in the forecast and got a beautiful morning for free pumpkin carving, yoga, kids’ activities, shopping, and one last Sunday together.
This season was extra special because we extended our Core Market Season all the way through October 4, and week after week, y’all kept showing up.
You showed up for our farmers, makers, bakers, and artisans. You came for the fresh produce, food trucks, live music, bounce houses, themed market days, kids’ activities, and all the little things that make a Sunday at the market special.
And our food assistance programs had an incredible year. We saw record participation in SNAP, Healthy Bucks, WIC, Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program vouchers, and POP Club.
Our POP Club has been especially exciting to watch grow. These are free $5 vouchers for kids to spend on fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs, and honey, with no income requirements or qualifications. We started POP Club last year to help kids get excited about eating fresh, healthy foods, and there were multiple Sundays this year where we ran out of all 50 vouchers within the first couple of hours!
We’ve heard from so many families about how these programs have helped them, and we’re incredibly proud that they’re making a difference. We’re already looking ahead to 2027 and are looking for POP Club sponsors and nonprofit partners interested in helping us bring more kids’ activities to the market.
We’ve also had some pretty big things happening behind the scenes this year!
We welcomed Tiffany Miller as our Programs Manager at the beginning of the year as our team continued to grow, and our Executive Director Maggie welcomed her second child, baby Harry, just about two weeks ago in September! 💙
We also had more volunteers than ever helping us throughout the season, and we are so thankful for everyone who gave their time to help make our Sundays happen.
And of course, we can’t forget Kayla, our 2026 intern, who spent the season capturing the market through her videography, reels, and live videos. She did such an amazing job showing off the people and moments that make our market special. 🦋
Needless to say, we are so thankful for every single person who showed up and supported us this season. Whether you bought some produce, grabbed lunch from a food truck, let your kids play on the bounce houses, used a food assistance program, volunteered, shared a post, or simply came out to spend your Sunday with us — you helped make this season what it was.
We hope y’all enjoy a little break from the weekly markets, the cooler weather, and your Spooktober! 🎃🍂
