Hey everyone! The spotlight is on my veggies lol. I am experimenting this year with different veggies. I know how good white half runner beans are and how much you love them but would you try a purple bean called Royal Burgundy or a purple striped bean call Dragon's Tongue? I will have a few this year and if they sell well I will have more next year at the Greenup Co Farmers Market. I have already sold a lot of Gimlet cucumbers. They are a snacking cucumber. They are a thin skinned cuke so you don't have to peel them to eat them. They are crisp and have very few seeds. They are not bitter but are on the sweet side. But because they are thin skinned, they are not good for pickling - just eating and salads! I will also have purple tomatillos for salsa. And with any luck I might have purple carrots. The jury is still out on that. Remember to shop local and support all us crazy farmers who like something different. Eat more purple! See you at the Greenup Co Farmers Market!
