FROM THE HEART ❤️
I’ve started writing this post about a dozen different times, and honestly, I still don’t know if there’s a right way to say it.
After a lot of thought, conversations, and some really difficult decisions, we’ve made the decision to close the doors at our Grandview location. Friday 10/9 will be our last day.
And if I’m being completely honest… this one hurts.
JM Meats was never just a building with a counter full of meat.
It became a part of our lives.
We put our time, our money, our energy, our ideas, our frustrations, our late nights, our early mornings, and a whole lot of our hearts into that shop.
But the biggest part of JM Meats was never the shop.
It was you guys.
The customers who walked through those doors and kept coming back.
The regulars who we knew by name.
The people who would stop and talk for 20 minutes when they came in for a pound of bacon.
The families who made us part of their Sunday lunches and holiday dinners.
The people who tried something new because we told them, “Trust us, you’re gonna like this.”
The ones who shared our posts, told their friends about us, brought someone new through the door, or simply told us, “Keep going.”
You probably don’t realize how much those little things meant to us.
There were days when things were tough. Days when we questioned whether we were doing the right thing. Days when the numbers didn’t make sense and we wondered what the hell we were doing.
But then somebody would walk through that door, shake our hand, tell us how much they loved something we made, or thank us for being there.
And for a little while, everything felt worth it again.
That’s what I’ll remember.
Not the hard days.
The people.
The laughs.
The friendships.
The memories.
The damn good food.
And the feeling that we were building something that mattered.
So yes, we’re closing the Grandview shop.
But we are NOT closing the book on JM Meats.
We need some time.
Time to step back. Time to breathe. Time to figure out what went wrong, what went right, and what the next version of JM Meats should look like.
I don’t have some big announcement about what comes next.
I don’t have all the answers.
And for once, I’m okay with that.
What I do know is that I’m not ready to give up.
There’s still too much I want to do.
There are still too many ideas in my head.
There’s still too much love for what we’ve built.
And there are still way too many people I’m thankful for.
So to everyone who ever walked through those doors—
Thank you.
Thank you for trusting us.
Thank you for supporting us.
Thank you for believing in us.
Thank you for giving us a chance.
And thank you for making JM Meats more than just a business.
Grandview was a chapter of our story. It wasn’t the whole story.
We’re going to take some time, figure out the next move, and when we’re ready…
you’ll hear from us.
This isn’t goodbye.
It’s just “see you on the other side.”
From the bottom of our hearts,
Thank you for everything. ❤️
