We’re working on the walkway today 🙌🏼, so things are a little loose underfoot.
If you see a tiny foreman with a rake… he’s doing his best and watch your ankles! 😅

🌱 Farm Stand Update 🌱

We’re slowly transitioning from order-ahead pickups to a more self-serve stand 🙌🏼

You’re welcome to stop by and shop anytime, but we’ll still be offering order pickups if you’d like to have items set aside and ready for you when you arrive, just like usual!

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be adding new products and items as we go, so keep an eye out 👀

If you’ve driven by or stopped in lately, you’ve probably noticed we’ve been busy giving the stand a needed facelift, up-potting seedlings, and getting our new greenhouse set up… and we’re just getting started.

Soon, the greenhouse will be walk-in / self-serve with all things garden related seeds, seedlings, flowers, and houseplants 🌸

Thank you to everyone who has wandered over and shown support already! 💛

Signage is coming soon… but we’re kind of enjoying being everyone’s little hidden best kept secret stand for now also

✨ Seedling Spotlight: Palemeno Tomato ✨

If you’re looking for a tomato that truly does it all, Palemeno is one you’ll find yourself planting again and again. This is one of those varieties that doesn’t just perform in the garden it shines in the kitchen too.

🌿 Produces large, orangey red fruits with a beautiful long tapered tip

🌿 Strong, productive indeterminate plants that keep producing through the Ohio season

Growing Info:
• Plant spacing: 18–36”
• Needs 6–10 hours of full to partial sun
• Ideal temperatures: 70–85°F

Fresh off the vine, Palemeno is a perfect slicer thick cuts for sandwiches or hearty summer salads. But where it really shines is in the kitchen. As it cooks down, the flesh melts into a rich, velvety texture with deep, naturally sweet tomato flavor.

Canning & Kitchen Uses:
• Smooth, rich pasta sauces
• Tomato soup

Would you slice this one thick for a sandwich, simmer it down into sauce… or sneak a bite straight off the vine while you’re out in the garden? 🍅😄

Today we’re spending the day up potting our Black Strawberry tomato seedlings one last time as they soak up the sunshine and begin hardening off for garden season 🌱 Fun fact: this variety produces some of the most stunning marbled fruits in shades of pink, purple, and deep bronze, with a rich sweet flavor to match. Perfect for little helping hands to find in the garden 🤍

At the same time, we’re filling carton after carton with fresh rainbow eggs, each one a little reminder of how much beauty is tucked into the everyday work here that our son helps us gather in the mornings.

From the seedlings to the nesting boxes, it’s one of those simple spring days that makes this farm life feel extra special not to me tipn this BEAUTIFUL weather!

🥚 Farm Fresh Egg Tip for Easter Deviled Eggs 🐔

If you’ve ever tried to hard boil really fresh eggs, you know they can be a pain to peel. That’s because the membrane is still tight to the shell.

Store eggs are usually older, which actually makes them peel easier.

💡 Our best tip: let farm fresh eggs sit in the fridge about a week before boiling. You’ll still get those rich golden yolks and amazing flavor just without the frustration.

Getting ready for Easter? Now’s the perfect time to grab a few dozen and let them rest 🙂

There’s something really special about seeing the lifestyle of bartering making its way back into our community 🤎

This year alone we’ve been so fortunate to trade and barter right here from Briggs & Berries Farm from pasture raised pigs to garden seedlings to farm fresh eggs and plumbing work. It’s been a beautiful reminder that food, skills, and hard work still hold real value.

As we head into a busy growing and building season, we’re always open to fair trades for things that help our farm and family thrive. Some barters we’d be especially interested in include:

🌾 Hay or straw (T will help bale during season)
🪵 Firewood
🥕 Homegrown produce or bulk fruit
🛠️ Farm help or skilled labor (fencing, carpentry, equipment repair)
🐐 Quality livestock or breeding opportunities
🌱 Seedlings, perennials, or fruit trees
🥛 Homemade or locally produced goods (baked items, honey, soaps, etc.)

Bartering builds connection. It builds trust. And honestly it just feels like the way things were meant to be!

We’re grateful for every neighbor, friend, and fellow small business who has swapped, traded, and supported local agriculture and Tjs trade with us this season.

Here’s to keeping traditions alive one trade at a time.
