We had our meeting with the Louisiana Department of Health today and wanted to update everyone on what food items WILL and will NOT currently be allowed in the market under our permit

🟢PRODUCE / FARM PRODUCTS:
• fresh produce
• farm fresh eggs
• plants/herbs

🟡FOODS ALLOWED FROM COTTAGE FOOD VENDORS:
• jams & jellies
• pickles
• candies
• dry mixes
• seasonings/spices
• shelf stable foods
• certain packaged snacks & treats

🟠FOODS THAT MUST COME FROM A LICENSED/PERMITTED COMMERCIAL KITCHEN OR APPROVED SOURCE:
• cookies
• cakes
• cupcakes
• breads
• brownies
• pastries
• cheesecakes
• refrigerated desserts
• baked goods of any kind
• milk/dairy products
• meats
• frozen prepared foods
• refrigerated foods

If you ARE currently operating from a licensed/permitted kitchen or approved facility, please let us know! We would still love to talk with you about becoming a vendor.

🔴 BAKERS- please don’t count us out just yet 🥹
Our Phase 2 vision is to eventually add a commercial licensed kitchen space that local bakers may be able to use in the future so smaller local bakers can still be part of the market one day!

Well… the Louisiana Department of Health gave us a little road bump yesterday 😮‍💨

Nothing we can’t work through! It just means we need to take a small detour and do a little more planning before opening our doors the RIGHT way.

We will be on vacation 5/16–5/21 and will resume planning, vendor reviews, and responding to messages once we return!

Thank y’all SO much for all the patience, excitement, and support already! This dream is growing bigger than we ever imagined and we’re learning as we go.

WE’RE HIRING ✨

As we continue preparing for our community market, we are beginning to build our team for our anticipated late summer opening 🤍

We are currently accepting interest/applications for TWO part-time positions:
• Store Cashier / Retail Associate
• Community Helper / Brand Assistant

These positions may be filled by one person or split between multiple people depending on experience and availability.

✨ COMMUNITY HELPER / BRAND ASSISTANT
Approx. 10 hours weekly (hybrid)
Flexible part-time role helping with vendor spreadsheets/forms, Facebook messages/comments, styling displays & merchandising, brainstorming aesthetics/vendors, and pop-up market setup/planning.

✨ STORE CASHIER / RETAIL ASSOCIATE
Approx. 25 hours weekly
Mostly afternoons + weekends
Responsibilities include customer checkout, restocking/straightening merchandise, helping maintain a clean & organized store environment, and closing cleaning tasks.

While positions likely will not officially begin until closer to opening (mid July/August estimated), we want time to find the RIGHT people who align with the vision and atmosphere we are creating ✨
