Mort was not only the name and inspiration, but truly the heart of the Delicatessen. Mort was their Zade (Yiddish for grandpa), Great Zade, and every person that had met him, was a friend. Like most families, some of their favorite time to catch up on life together was and still is during a meal. They would meet at the old Lincoln Dell for a great sandwich and a bowl of matzo ball soup. They would
join together and share new stories, old favorites and how proud they were of their Zade's accomplishments, above all creating an amazing family. When the Lincoln Dell closed, they knew what they needed to do. Start their own family deli, in his honor, in their own way. Mort's Delicatessen opened its doors on November 3rd, 2008. In late 2015 the deli underwent an exchange in ownership. Another local family living the American Dream are now the proud owners of Mort's! They look to continue the legacy the previous family left behind. Bringing new ideas, twists & concepts to the table, but also wanting to continue with the same great food that everyone enjoys that come to Mort's! We look forward to sharing your memories here, at our restaurant!
