One Man Produce Stand Saturday morning Produce Stand - all proceeds donated to charity The One Man Produce Stand started as a table full of volunteer tomato plants.

In one of the front garden beds, a cherry tomato had become such a prolific producer, there was no way to harvest all the little tomatoes. Some invariably fell to the ground. Those then melded with the soil and voila, a crop of volunteer tomato plants. Knowing full well there was not enough space or appetite for even more cherry tomatoes in his immediate circle, One Man transplanted those little p

lants and took them down to Catlin Court one Saturday morning. The response was so very positive, he began to think a little bigger. Making a potting bench for his father as a gift another light bulb went off! This would make a perfect display for all the little plants that he was "harvesting" from his garden. The simple fact of not being the biggest fan of eggplant but having great luck at growing it, that simple fact resulted in a bushel basket purchase to add to the little redwood potting bench display to get those beautiful and tasty eggplant into the hands of people that would enjoy them, instead of them just going to waste. Some herbs planted for personal use grew a lot and again, the option was to share rather than waste. And those little one things that led to another kept happening. A chicken coop expansion so more chickens could be added to their little urban flock. A large sweet pea garden for his wife provided beautiful bouquets, however allergies prevented them from being in every room in the house and family and friends only wanted so many sweet peas themselves. Flowers were added to the mix! A new flower garden in the front yard was added and sunflowers planted. The sunflowers attracted loads of bees and hummingbirds, and later beautiful little green and black birds for the seeds. Now, the gardens have been expanded, the variety of vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers is constantly changing as the seasons do. The most wonderful thing about this One Man Produce Stand is two-fold....the enjoyable work put in to the garden now is never wasted, all the produce, flowers, and eggs are enjoyed one way or another and the old school drop box where people pay what they want if they want, all that money is donated to charity.

November is always a time to stop and reflect and on this first day of November we are remembering Teddy Bear Day back in September.

Yesterday did a reverse Trick or Treat at a local hospital and we were beyond thrilled to see the bears that you all donated being given to kids who couldn’t go trick or treating. Those teddy bears are busy doing their job - comforting kids. Thankful that came out back on that oh-so-hot September day. (Check out for the video)

Appreciating our nearly two decade relationship with and the things they do not only for our community but all across the country. We appreciate you and the dogs hanging out with us that day - it was a scorcher. The 4 Cousins Lemonade Stand (now operated by my “baby” cousin and her buddy) raised over $1300 for AZSD selling lemonades and baked goods. They could not do that without your support. We’ve always said our customers and community are just the best, and today we are thankful for all of you.
