The pipe for the manure pit started going in today. Once that is done they will start on the concrete for the manure pit.

The second silo is almost done and they also started working on the walls for the barn! 🎉

There will be a 3rd silo built in between them that will be started but finished at a later date as we have already harvested all of the haylage and stored it in bags. The big silo is already about 2/3 full of corn silage and we hope to fill the other one with ground high moisture shell corn next week.

The cows are going out to pasture, they are wary of the construction but still like to go out.

Soybean harvest

We started harvesting soybeans yesterday 10/7/26. We grow them for feed for the cows. The yield was down a bit but that’s expected for how dry it has been here this summer.

The silage is unloaded into the blower and travels up the pipe into the top of the silo.

Corn silage!

The corn has started to dry down quickly so we got some help to get it harvested and have quality feed for the cows when they get into the new barn.

The big silo was finished and we actually started filling it with corn silage today now that it has had time to cure.
One of the other silos has also been started and is going up quickly.
