We proudly present Mr. And Mrs. Pifer! Now both our cheesemakers are married off! Seasons sure do change, and we are all holding on for dear life. Jaden got married on a beautiful May afternoon. She planned the event well and gave us the privilege of handling the food…. Which was cheese, OFCOURSE! We threw in a few fruits and veggies for color and Rowan sanded that walnut centerpiece for a whole day. The food, the music, the wedding came off without a hitch. I was prepared to be happy for her, what I wasn’t prepared for was my own grief! She has been my right hand for so many years,a dear friend, and a steady rock, sure glad she won’t be far away!

These are our horror stories. One hasn’t happened yet but we wouldn’t be surprised if it did, although we take precautions. Of all the things on the list, nothing has brought out the crazy in me quite like c***s in the corn. I’ve always felt there was plenty to share in the garden, even with the critters. But c***s don’t share. Still recall the year I was 8 months pregnant, patrolling the garden at 2 in the morning, holding a flashlight with Daniel behind me with his gun loaded. I wasn’t sure whether to be more afraid of an animal jumping out in front of me or the gun behind me! Did I mention c***s in the corn bring out the crazy in me? ***sinthecorn

Announcing our newest addition to the soil fertility program! CHICKENS! We will be rotating chickens through the pastures this summer and offering a few select meat chickens this fall. Look for our eggs at Richland Park Farmers market, this summer!

Poor Petunia is the lamb of a first time mom who just couldn’t get it together! She has been the queen of our humble castle for the past two weeks… coffee time snuggles, movie naps on the couch, and running away with our hearts, always. Little stinker doesn’t know she is a lamb! Shhhhh don’t tell her, yet! Come see Petunia and Rowan from 9am-12pm! We will have a bottle for convenient snacks!

Lol! Rowan doesn’t seem to know what is going on but he sure is going along the on the ride! 😂 Our play on the “doesn’t take two people” trend! Of course Daniel is excited to be in the middle of everything. There isn’t much he doesn’t find fun…. Except maybe fencing. 🫣

Come make a batch of cheddar with us! This is our longest cheese make! 8 whole hours plus another 4-6 pressing. Often times we will have to run back after we milk to finish it up and put it in the cold. But it’s also our number one seller! So we’ll worth it! Come give it a taste at from 9-12, tomorrow. Or catch us at the downtown

A lot of hours are spent in this barn from now until fall! With cheese or planting the days can be long. Lol farming is more of a life than it is a job.
