This kettle-cooked German-style pork sausage is flavored with a unique blend of spices including marjoram, nutmeg, ginger, and paprika. Piast has been a Garfield staple since 1991, and this sandwich shows how a family business can keep building on what it already does well.

The Hot Honey Chicken was created by the owner’s daughter, the next generation putting its own stamp on the business. The chicken is double breaded, fried crisp, and finished with hot honey they make in house.

That is the part I keep coming back to with Piast. This family-owned Polish market in Garfield, NJ is not just serving big sandwiches. They’re still making the meats, sauces, and food themselves, and you can taste that difference.
