🦌🍞 A Little Story Behind The Sour Doe… ❤️
For those of you who are new here, I thought I’d share a little about how The Sour Doe came to be!
I’ve always loved cooking and baking. There’s just something about making something from scratch and sharing it with the people you love.
One day, I decided to try something new… sourdough. And well, let’s just say things got a little out of hand. 😂
What started as a fun experiment quickly turned into a passion. I started sharing my creations with friends and family, and after hearing so much wonderful feedback, I thought… Why not turn something I love into a business?
And in 2025, The Sour Doe was born! 🦌
But from the beginning, I wanted this to be about more than just selling bread.
I wanted to bring fresh, handmade, delicious food to our community. In a world where so much is mass-produced, I wanted to bring back the simple joy of homemade baked goods. The kind that remind you of something made in your grandma’s kitchen or shared around the family table.
Good food, made from scratch, with ingredients I feel good about and the same care I’d put into baking for my own family.
What started in my kitchen has grown into farmers markets, so many fun sourdough creations, and my very own retail space inside Amazing Grace Gifts and More in Sunbury!
And while I absolutely love creating new recipes (and apparently finding new ways to cover my entire kitchen in flour 😂), my favorite part has been the people.
The familiar faces at markets, the customers who keep coming back, the kind messages, the recommendations, and everyone who has supported this little dream.
Every purchase means something to me. Every compliment makes my day. And knowing that something I made is being enjoyed at your family’s table? That’s what makes all the early mornings and late nights worth it.
The Sour Doe may have started with flour, water, and a little curiosity, but it’s grown into something so much more because of YOU.
Thank you for supporting handmade, shopping small, and allowing me to share something I truly love with this amazing community.
I’m so proud of how far this little business has come, and I can’t wait to see where it goes next!
