🥳This weekend is our first Kids Bucks weekend!!

This new program was created to empower the next generation of local food eaters!

The first 15 Kids to visit the market, ages 2-17 will receive $5 voucher to spend at the market. The vouchers are for $2 & $3, as no change is given on the vouchers.

***Vouchers can only be spent on staple and nourishing food. (Empowering good food choices here) this includes items such as produce, plants, bread, jelly, canned goods, eggs, honey/Maple syrup.
**NOT Eligible items are sweet breads, sweet baked goods, or non food items.

*Limit 2 Kids per family

Flachtemeier Monument Company has been serving the Freeport community for more than 140 years. From Monuments & Headstones to Civic Work & Veteran Memorials they are dedicated to providing quality service to each of their customers.

📚If you would like to support the expansion of this program, we have some Farmers Market childrens books available for a $5-10 donation. Proceeds go to fund the program and we would love to be able to offer more than 15 vouchers!

There are so many cool things going on behind the scenes here! Once I can breathe and aren't covered in flour I'll show you🤩

But for now, the lineup for Stephenson County Farmers Market tomorrow!

Traditional round

Rye with caraway and flax seed

Scones (drumroll please, I got creative)
Maple Pecan
Pepperoni, Munster & Basil
Flaxseed & Cinnamon
Raspberry & Goat Cheese
Rye with Candied Caraway
&&& A GLUTEN FREE SCONE!
Made with buckwheat(which is not actually wheat, its GF) and hazelnut flour.
I'll have to test to make sure they are edible, but seem legit :) so that's exciting. Obviously made in a kitchen that handles wheat, in case your super duper sensitive I can't guarantee 100% safety.

Week 3 is almost here and with it brings green things!
Slowly but surely more fresh produce is making an entrance, and with our new vendor this week, Holy Heron Farm, expect to see some delicious arugula!
Polish Deluxe will be back with her fresh baked goodness, W***y is back from the Pec Thing, and Marlene is back from their trip to WI.
Katiana from Northwest Illinois Medical Reserve Corps - Nwilmrc will be joining us, offering information on emergency preparedness and information on the Reserve Corps. We've had the pleasure of having her with us for years, and she is a Community Tent delight for kids and adult alike :)

The weather will be lovely, and stopping by the market is a great way to kick off your Memorial Day Weekend!

🥳 Celebrating our first compost bucket exchange this weekend, as well as the 5 more people who got buckets to start collecting their kitchen scraps to turn into soil food!
This is amazing! 👏👏 we super appreciate you.
