Come and join Community Roots as we team up with the amazing Mountain Community Garden in Eatonville.
Come join us for a beautiful day at the Mountain Community Garden in Eatonville on Saturday May 9th, 2026 at 12 pm at 113 Rainier Ave N, Eatonville, WA. There is parking at the garden as well as parking at the visitor center in town.
Have you ever experienced our little hometown community garden? It’s truly a special little spot that’s dedicated to giving back to the community through learning experiences, hosting spaces for gardeners who need a place to cultivate crops, provide habitat for pollinators, as well as donate HUNDREDS of pounds of produce to our local food bank.
Whether you’re a novice or experienced gardener (OR if you just love having great experiences with great people in the beloved sunshine), you’re invited to this family event where we will be offering a variety of experiences including:
-A Welcome and History of the garden with Master Gardener and one of the Garden Coordinators Barbara Samora
-A Pollinator Chat with Dakota Vogel (Leader of Community Roots)
-Seed planting demonstration
-A Scavenger Hunt for the kids
-Seed/Plant Swap and Giveaway
-A Potluck in true, Community Roots gathering spirit!
As well as an opportunity to work to “Wake Up” the Spring Garden and prepare for a busy season ahead with some work party activities as we KNOW the Roots group isn’t afraid to get in there and get their hands dirty!
Please bring close-toed shoes, clothes to work in, and a potluck item. If you have any plants or seeds you’d like to gift, please bring. We will have waivers on site to sign prior to activities.
If you do have additional tools such as Rakes, Hand Trowels, 5 Gallon Buckets with handles, please bring these items and label them so they can make it back to you in case the garden doesn’t have quite enough tools for the volunteers.
