Take care of your pits.
We spend so much time worrying about what we put on our face, in our food and on our skinā¦meanwhile our armpits get toxic deodorant slapped on them every morning and basically forgotten about.
Your underarms have sweat glands, hair follicles and a large concentration of lymph nodes in the surrounding area. Sweat isnāt the enemy. Itās a normal body function and body odor mostly happens when bacteria on the skin break down components of sweat. And Donāt forget⦠what you eat is what you sweat. Loads of chemicals and toxic ingredients in your food, on top of an anti perspirant⦠youāre trapping it all inside. You need to let your body sweat and detox itself.
And letās talk about what we put on our pits.
Mostļæ¼ conventional deodorants and antiperspirants contain aluminum, dangerous synthetic fragrance that wreak havoc on your systems, specifically hormones and block your pores from releasing toxins. I personally donāt want those on my skin every single day. Antiperspirants are designed to reduce sweating. We NEED to sweat. it not only cools us down, l but it gets rid of toxins as well and when you mask that or use anti perspirant, you are keeping those toxins inside your body. Iād rather keep it simple, let my body sweat, control the odor naturally and give my lymphatic system a little love in the meantime.
A better pit care routine: in this order.
š± Lymphatic Massage Oil (yep great for the pits also) ļæ¼
Gentle 2-5 minute massage in and around the underarms before your shower to encourage normal lymphatic fluid movement, wash like normal. (Iāve been doing this once a week under my arms but you can go every day .)
š± Detox Powder-
An occasional underarm mask to help detox those glands, absorb excess oil, sweat and deodorant buildup. Mix it into a paste, apply, let it sit and rinse with warm water and cloth. (I use this one to two times a month)
š± Mineral Spray Deodorant (daily)
Made with magnesium hydroxide, which helps raise the pH of the underarm and creates a less favorable environment for the bacteria responsible for odor. It helps control the stink without stopping you from sweating. Shake very well, Spray it on, let it dry. (potential irritation if freshly shaved. Do a patch test first. This does not happen to me personally but has with someone I know)
š± Tallow Deodorant (daily)
Herbal infused tallow. Odor killing ingredients, completely non toxic š„³, plus minerals and arrowroot to help with sweat absorption.
You will not get more than 12-24 hours of protection out of this deodorant. You must clean and restart.
Sweating is normal. The goal shouldnāt be to completely shut down your sweat glands that are just trying to do their job. Keep your pits clean, let them do what theyāre supposed to do and be mindful of what youāre putting on them every single day.
Your pits donāt need to smell like a dumpster (the public thanks you) but they donāt need a chemistry experiment either. š ļæ¼
Things to keep in mind. The tallow deodorant is similar to like a wet clay , so donāt push real hard when you use it. Need a small amount. You can also blend it in with your finger after you put it on. (Not convenient, I know)
It will melt in extreme heat, so use caution there. If you are use to using big box brand deodorant, you may need to use the detox powder several times for best results. It does pull toxins out and toxins stink. So if you REALLY stink after using it, do it again. Get those toxins OUT! You just mix VERY small amounts of of water, apple c***r vinegar (best option) or honey and make a thick paste.
