Happy Quail Farms

Happy Quail Farms A family-owned farm in East Palo Alto producing more varieties of specialty peppers than any other place in the country, including our famed tapa Padrons.

We grow and sell speciality produce online at www.happyquailfarms.com and at our local farmers markets. Peppers are our main crop but we have quite a few other products available. We are not open for sales at our farm site. We have been in business here in the Bay Area for over 40 years. We ship nationwide.

At Happy Quail Farms we take our organic pest control very seriously 🐀🐭🐁 rodents, you’ve been warned!

That being said, our cat (his name is jamón) likes long walks in the greenhouse, belly rubs and on the very very rare occasion he’ll maim a mouse or two, but he’d much prefer the attention of his mom

We have our very first Ají Dulce of the year available at the Ferry Plaza Market today. They’re the very first of what looks like a promising season of Ají. The Aji Amarillo plants look beautiful and should start producing soon, but come on down and get your peppers! Tis the season.

The green peppers are turning colors finally and we expect that have an exceptional display of peppers for you all on Saturday at the Ferry Building. Also, don’t forget to place your order online! Pimientos de Padrón are available to be shipped to your door. Orders must be in by Friday. It’s time to eat some peppers!

Just a quick reminder that we ship our Pimientos de Padrón all over the United States. Not to toot our own horn, but we were the first to grow these in the United States and we still pride ourselves in having the best Padrons out there. With close to 30 years of experience with the product, we know what it takes and it ain’t easy. A lot of folks have had bad Padrons and think they’re a spicy version of a Shish*to. That is false. Shish*to are easier to grow (and less flavorful version) of the Pimiento de Padrón and as a result we’ve seen a lot of folks asking for Shish*to, as that product has become more main stream due to its abundance. TRUST US, the shish*to and the Padrón are not equivalent and you should try our Pimientos de Padrón before you write them off as spicy peppers. They’re like Russian roulette, but only 1 in 10 should be spicy tops. Order them on our website and have them shipped to your door! 📦✈️ Learn why these are the favorite peppers of Spain 🇪🇸
