3 key points to making excellent chicken:

1) Sunshine. Grocery store chicken never sees the light of day. Pastured chickens raised outside naturally make vitamin d3 from direct sunlight and inturn are healthier. Direct UV light also helps disinfect their surroundings. Healthier birds make healthier meat.

2) Rotational Grazing. Pastured chicken like these get moved to fresh grass every single day. They are not cooped up with 15000 other chickens in a building breathing their own excrement dust. A study from the 90s said that the best preventative measure for Avian flu was for a chicken to eat 2 blades of grass a day. Healthier birds make healthier meat.

3) Feed. Our chickens are the fed the best possible ration. Sunrise farms out of Virginia has a Soy free non Gmo feed that is the best feed I have ever seen. Clean and course ground. Healthier birds make healthier meat.

Some new chicken nuggets in the brooder! These will be in the brooder for 3 weeks and then out to their chicken tractor for 3 to 4 weeks to finish out. They will be moved everyday to fresh grass and be fed non-gmo food from sunrise farms in Virginia. It is the absolute best way to raise chicken meat. We will have vacuum sealed chicken meat at the Dublin Farmers Market this year!
