Winter has ended! Welcome Spring!

Today, hours of daylight and darkness are of equal length. Freezing weather is behind us and everywhere are signs of bloom, from new leaves on trees to new baby creatures. 🌱

Starting tomorrow, the hours of sunlight will increase bit by bit until the Summer Solstice. ☀️

We're warming up and stretching our limbs after the cold of Winter. Whether you're welcoming new green shoots or new little peepers like these, we hope you have a bountiful Spring season. 🐣

Welcome Winter! Today is the shortest day of the year, and tonight the longest night. The toils of the year are over. It's time to enjoy.

The plants that fruit in winter - like Yaupon Holly - are more tenacious than most. We never know what a Texas winter will bring, but it's a farmer's job to always be prepared - and, like the Yaupon, to be a little optimistic, too.

Tomorrow, the sunlight hours will begin to increase again. The new sun brings a new year - we can't wait to see what it holds!

It's time to rest the soil so new seeds can germinate. We're closing the farmers market for the rest of the year - we'll reopen early next year. Thank you so much to all our incredible vendors, and all our enthusiastic friends and neighbors who have visited us at market this year. We're taking this time to work on some new idea seedlings to make the market even more fun and fulfilling - we can't wait to show you what we're growing!

• VENDOR SPOTLIGHT •

Chilly weather calls for a chicken in every pot! The freshest, most delicious chickens are from Cielito Lindo Farms. These heritage-breed hens are pasture-raised at the vineyard at Lewis Wines in Johnson City, where they help maintain the soil fertility for the vineyard by foraging and "chicken tilling". Birds are processed in small batches on site. Owner Julia Poplawsky has an extensive background as a butcher and gives great advice on the best way to prepare whole birds to perfection! Find her booth at Hill Country Farmers Market this Sunday!

We're changing locations this Sunday! November 7th we'll be at the Dripping Springs Ranch Park & Event Center 10am - 2pm.

From 11am -3pm, the Ranch Park will also be hosting the Dripping Springs Empty Bowls Project 🥣 a fundraiser for the Helping Hands - Dripping Springs, Texas 👐 Pick out a beautiful bowl handmade by one of several local artisans and fill it with one of dozens of delicious soups made by local chefs. All soups are packaged to-go. Tickets are $25, available at the door.

Several of our vendors are donating a portion of their sales from this weekend's market to Helping Hands. Come eat some soup with us and help feed our most vulnerable neighbors during this holiday season.

We'll be back at Dreamland Dripping Springs starting November 14th.
