We roasted robusta coffee beans for the first time. It turned out well. It is less sweet and acidic than Arabica coffee and has about twice the caffeine. The beans are smaller and rounded than Arabica beans. This Tanzania Fair Trade Organic has a pleasant but lingering dark chocolate, earthy taste. At about half the price of most Arabica beans, this is well worth checking out. We will have this coffee for sale in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned!

Day is Earth Day 2022. We'd encourage you to think about reducing the amount of plastic you use. Did you know that only 9% of all plastic gets recycled? In fact, the plastic industry knew this and deliberately misled the public into thinking plastic is safe and recyclable. Planet Money has a good podcast on the topic:

Fortunately, here at Sebec & Company, our kraft bags are fully compostable (even the label!) and we use glass containers for liquids.

Do you know where your garlic comes from? Most of the garlic you see at the grocery store comes from China, unless the label says "Grown in the U.S.A."

"Packed in the U.S.A." is a trick to confuse you on where the garlic really comes from.

Chinese garlic is a high risk of heavy metal contamination and the use of prison labor.

Did you know that many tea bags release billions of plastic particles into your tea? Do your research to make sure you are ingesting plastic with your tea or get your tea from us!
