This week I talked about the importance of gut health as it relates to heart disease on KWGN Denver as research shows heart disease can be traced back to the gut. One way to help maintain optimal gut health, or a healthy and diversified balance of bacteria and fungi, is by eating fermented foods.
I was excited to share my Kimchi Fried Rice recipe made with SintoGourmet Spicy Kimchi (the freshest most delicious kimchi by the way๐) as well as my Spicy Kraut Slaw recipe made with Vibrant Veggies lemon ginger kraut (PS they just came out with to-go packages of kraut which are a total game changer--use code CARLEYFEB2020 on their website for a 10% off products this month!). Finally, we washed it all down with a refreshing Mock-tail Moscow Mule made with Trubucha fresh ginger beer and ginger kombucha (Colorado friends your MUST check out their tasting room in Lone Tree๐คฉbest kombucha ever).
I love incorporating ferments in various recipes, they add so much flavor and when theyโre mixed into salads and drinks it helps me consume them more frequently. If you want to catch the full segment, check out the link below. Cheers to healthy guts and happy heartsโค๏ธ๐๐น
