Worth the Wait Farm

Worth the Wait Farm Welcome to Worth the Wait Farm! Our herd of Oberhasli goats give us some of the best tasting milk from which we make a fine selection of cheeses.

We are a state licensed goat dairy serving a variety of cheese, raw milk, and as a licensed bakery we offer a full line of bakery goods made with our milk, eggs and whey. We use their goats milk in our selection of soaps, lotions and bath teas. Every spring we also sell ADGA registrable Oberhasli and Oberhasli/Alpine kids. Our closed herd is tested yearly for CAE, CL and Johne's. We also test fo

r TB and Brucellosis as required by the state. We also have beehives and do sell limited amounts of honey. We also make handwoven baskets of all shapes and sizes. We can customize any of our basket to fit your needs, your color palette, etc.

A few of the working mommas here at the farm.

We are a weird dairy farm. We leave our kids with their dams. Most dairies pull the kids at birth. This is for a few reasons. I however, like dam raised kids, so, we dam raise.

When the kids are 2-4 weeks old, we separate them at night. They are eating hay and grain at this point and they nurse for 14 hours everyday.

In the morning we partially milk the mommas so that we can enjoy the milk and their kids have plenty to get them started.
The dams will stop letting their milk down, they hold milk in their udders, to assure that their kids have enough to start the day.

The moms make milk all day, so the kids have plenty.
