David’s Specialty Meats in Denham Springs, LA (in the Amite Crossing Shopping Center) across from Bass Pro. David’s has forty years experience in the meat business. He began working in a slaughter house at Tangi meat packers in Ponchatoula, Louisiana in 1975. In 1979, he began working for National food stores, where he was a meat market manager. It was here where he received the outstanding achiev

ement award in 1990 and Manager of the year in 1991, an award given to only one person out of three states. After National closed in 1995, he began working and managing a local specialty meat shop in Baton Rouge, Louisiana that opened in 1996. In 2007, Mr. David had the opportunity to work close to home at another specialty meat shop in West Baton Rouge, Louisiana up to November 2014. In December 2014, he decided to open his own store and it became a reality when an opportunity presented itself. After much work and planning, he finally opened his doors on March 6th, 2015. We are a specialty and Cajun meats establishment, and much more. Some of our specialties are: stuffed deboned chickens and ducks, hand-cut choice ribeye’s and filet mignon, boudin, brisket, many varieties of handmade sausages, quail, stuffed pork tenderloins, casseroles, stuffed peppers, gumbo, etouffee, turduckens and a variety of specialty items. Chickens are deboned in store and we do all our own cutting, grinding, stuffing, cooking and smoking in store as well. David Stanga is originally from Hammond, Louisiana. He is a master butcher and meat specialist, and a cook. His is the face you see on the big red and yellow logo; where some people have been passing through/shopping and have their picture taken with him. He has been on a few local T.V. shows in the past, but one of his favorites is when he deboned and stuffed a whole pig on Tumey’s Travels. David’s Specialty Meats & More is not designed as a restaurant or hot lunches. The food prepared here is ready to heat and serve, take and bake/cook. Some items can even be boiled in the bag they are packaged in. Our business hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 7:00pm, and on Saturdays from 9:00am to 6:00pm.
