It's Peach Time!
Hey Friends,
Summertime has arrived and that means it's peach season! We will be bringing back fresh picked peaches from Lane Southern Orchards, located in Fort Valley, GA. In addition to the peaches, we will also be restocking our supply of pecans, canned peaches along with some other products to carry in the store from Lane's as well. Those additional products are not yet available on our website, however will be available to purchase in store during our peach pick up weekend.
The peaches can be pre-ordered through the farm website using the link below. We kindly ask that only those paying in cash or who need assistance place a peach pre-order in store. For those who are placing an order in store, those orders can be placed over the next several weeks during our weekly store hours Thursday - Sunday.
We will be accepting pre-orders on the peaches until 12:00 PM ET Monday, July 6th. Peaches will be available for pickup beginning Thursday, July 9th and can be picked up anytime that weekend during our store hours. We are open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 am - 5 pm.
We will have some peaches available for purchase by the pound in the market store during the weekend of July 9-12th.This option is good for those who only want a very small amount of peaches.
This year we will offer both grade #1 and grade #2 peaches. Grade #2 peaches are sold by the half-bushel only.
Freestone grade 1 peaches, also referred to as cling-free peaches, are great for eating, cooking, baking and canning. They are sweet and juicy and the flesh is not attached to the pit. The peaches are not organic, however Lane Southern Orchards does not spray once fruit appears on the trees. These are the same peaches the farm has offered in past years.
Freestone grade 2 peaches are the same variety as the #1 grade peaches, however the grade #2 peaches may contain some blemishes, bumps and bruises. These peaches are great for cooking, baking and canning. The peaches are not organic, however Lane Southern Orchards does not spray once fruit appears on the trees.
During the pre-order period, Grade #1 peaches are available in two sizes:
1/2 bushel (box) is $48.99. This size contains around 60 peaches (depending on this year's size) and is approximately 25 pounds.
4 quart bag is $12.99. This size contains around 15 peaches and is approximately 6 pounds.
Grade #2 peaches are sold only by the 1/2 bushel (box):
1/2 bushel (box) of grade #2 peaches is $38.99. This size contains around 60 peaches (depending on this year's size) and is approximately 25 pounds.
Please note the actual number of peaches may vary by bag or box as the amount of peaches is based on weight.

Orders for peaches should be placed separate from all other products, such as milk and cheese, unless you intend to pick up those products alongside your peaches during the weekend of July 9-12th.
