Angels On Earth Gained Their Wings Into Heaven
Yesterday afternoon, Charles and Connie Johnson earned their wings to spend eternity with their heavenly Father. If you had the privilege to know the Johnson's you can attest that they were true angels on earth.
Connie was a long-time school nurse at Cold Springs High School, where she built a reputation of kindness, love, and caring. She showed up to school, loved on kids all day, and ensured the students and faculty were cared for to the best of her ability.
While Connie was on one side of the county, her husband Charles was working at the Cullman Area Technology Academy on the other side of Cullman. Again, not to sound like a broken record, but Charles showed up to work, performed his duties, and built a reputation of love and kindness. In addition, Charles was a pastor and genuinely loved the Lord. He spent his life sharing the gospel and teaching people the love of Christ.
While we have gathered a few quotes from the community, we would ask for you to continue to keep Charles and Connie Johnson in your thoughts and prayers but rejoice that they are free at last and living with their eternal Father in heaven.
"Heartbreaking is an understatement. So many days and nights as a kid spent with these two and their family. Please please pray for their family and the community in the days ahead. The only comfort is there is absolutely no doubt where they are right now! Heaven must be more beautiful now!" - Elizabeth Richards.
"Charles Johnson has been our pastor for the last couple of years. He was a great pastor, but more importantly, he was a great friend. I loved Charles and Connie; they both had the initials CJ, so Connie was CJ 1 and Charles was CJ2. I've known him for over 50 years. We did some visiting together over the last couple of years. Charles, Debra, and I were at the fair in the WCBA booth, trying to tell people about our Jesus. I've spent I don't know how many days with him building ramps with him for people that can't get around very well. He got me involved with the ramp crew the week after I retired. God please comfort their families and the people that have pastored or mentored and give them peace during this sad time and give them the assurance of seeing them again through the Blood of Jesus." - Gary McMinn.
"While I didn't know the Johnsons personally, I have been told that they were dedicated to our Career Center and Cold Springs School for many years. I am thankful for their service, and I know they will be greatly missed. We will definitely keep their family in our prayers." - Shane Barnette.
"While our hearts are broken to hear of the passing of our former pastor and his wife, we can't help but smile knowing what a homecoming they received. Bro. Charles and Connie were a Huge blessing to us. The video was made when Bro Charles "retired" back in 2016. The song is still perfect. To his family and friends, thank you for sharing him with us." - Smith Lake Baptist Church.
