Hello CFM Supporters:

Connecticut Farmers’ need your help! Bill (PA-490), which goes into effect on January 31, has the potential to significantly affect many Connecticut Farmers’ who will be faced with the taxation of 400-2,000 times due to the reassessment of farmland. This includes viable farmland as well as non usable land, including wetland or swamp areas.

We have all felt the effects of inflation and if this bill goes through, purchasing local, freshly picked produce at Farmers Markets will hurt everyone's pocket!

There is currently a petition being circulated by savectland.org that will be presented to the General Assembly tomorrow. There are 19K signatures already collected with a goal of 20K signatures. Please sign and encourage others to join you. No Farms = No Food.

Tomorrow is Christmas in Coventry Village. Stop by the Patriot’s Park Community Center to support the Coventry Lion’s Club to purchase tickets to win the Coventry Farmers’ Market tree. The winner will receive a gift card for a “Friends of the Market bag” and a short and long sleeve t-shirt for Dog Day, “I’m only here to pet the dogs”. Good luck!
