Holy smokes, 234 # monster. Congratulations Kyle! And what is crazy it came out of the woods chasing does. Seems pretty early but i've had several hunters telling me the bucks are chasing now.

Pickle did it again. At just thirteen years old, he has taken over a dozen deer. Not to mention turkeys. A great hunter to carry on the tradition. Congratulations to him and his hunting mentors he has had.

We had a lot of deer come in this weekend stuffed with bags of ice. Photo number one is what what happens to your meat as the ice melts. The water along with any that is not cleaned out of the cavity will marinate
into the carcass. That includes stomach matter feces,dirt and blood, stuff that you really don't want marinated into your steak that you're looking forward to eat. Photo number two was someone's trophy that they wanted to get mounted. But the taxidermist said the hide was so saturated with water, the hair was coming out. I get dozens of calls every season from local taxidermist looking for cape replacements because of this. If you harvest a deer and you have to keep it overnight, you want to keep it cool and most important dry. It's not recommended just to leave it in the back of a truck overnight. You need to hang it up into a clean environment where air can circulate around the whole carcass and wash all the contaminants that are on the inside of that carcass, because if you leave it in there it will marinate into the meat overnight. When you pick up you're finished product from us we want you to enjoy every bite and it starts with the care before it gets to us. Happy hunting to you all.

Congratulations to my daughter inlaw Meghann on her biggest buck to date. This is just her third season hunting and this is her third harvest. Double lung shot made for short tracking.
