CSA shareholders - if you would like extra tomatoes or cukes for canning, pickling, or salsa - in place of something else from your share, please let me know. Will be done in the order I hear from people. Thank you!

Very pleased with the gardens - has been a lot of hard work with the extreme weather, but I'm feeling very fortunate to have healthy, beautiful veggies to provide to our CSA shareholders. My heart goes out to the family farms who are losing everything.

I have had to turn a few people away in the last couple of weeks for CSA shares - which is something I never like or want to do. Please keep in mind for next year, if you are looking to be a shareholder - you need to contact farms in early spring, as there will be deadlines (ours was April 30th). We need the deadlines so we can plan how much seed to buy, how much we need to plant, and have the money for the shares in order to make it all happen. thank you for the interest everyone - and thank you to our CSA shareholders.

Planting is well on its way - 12 (50 ft) rows of peas and string beans (green, burgandy, & yellow); 165 red cabbage; 120 kholrabi; 160 broccoli; 95 leeks, cutting celery; cauliflower, and radishes. 6 row seeder is put together and hope to plant many more things tomorrow evening.

for a couple of you who were brave enough to make a guess about the number of tomato seedlings in the tray - I finished up tonight - and the final count in the tray was 557......one more tray of them to go.

Herb seedlings are doing well; between the variations in weather, gusty winds, etc. some of the tomato & pepper seedlings took a slight beating but should make a come back. It's probably ok if I lose a couple as I transplanted another 36 6-packs of peppers last night and I'm guessing I have another 600 tomato plants to transplant. Will be great when I'm doing the final transplant into the gardens. :)

transplanted 98 tomatoe plants last night with about 60 more to go - and that was only two varieties................I may need to start working the night shift.
